Compassionate care, affordable cost
Each year, Planned Parenthood affiliated health centers nationwide
provide high quality, affordable reproductive health care and
sexual health information to nearly five million women, men
and teens. Planned Parenthood welcomes everyone - regardless
of race, age, sexuality, disability, or income. In fact, one
in four women has visited Planned Parenthood at least once.
When clients walk through our doors, they find a dynamic community
resource that offers a wide range of medical and counseling
services and health care education, as well as advocacy programs.
Committed, professional staff run Planned Parenthood health
centers. Caring physicians, nurse practitioners, and other staff
take time to talk with clients, encouraging them to ask questions
and discuss their feelings in a confidential setting.
Educators offer innovative programs on making responsible choices
about health and sexuality. Public affairs staff are constantly
working to protect access to all reproductive health services
and information.
Offering comprehensive health

Each Planned Parenthood affiliate is a unique, locally governed
health service organization that reflects the diverse needs
of its community. Planned Parenthood health centers offer a

Providing responsible sexuality education to the
community
Planned Parenthood believes that knowledge empowers people to
make better choices about their health and sexuality. Our medically
accurate sexuality education efforts are a significant departure
from the "abstinence-only" approach that ignores the realities
of premarital sexual behavior in the U.S. We offer a wide range
of culturally sensitive, age-appropriate programs, including
- programs for parents and teens designed to enhance learning
about sexuality within the family
- presentations on sexual and reproductive health issues
at schools, places of worship, and community centers
- workshops and training seminars for teachers, physicians,
nurse practitioners, social workers, and other health care
professionals
Planned Parenthood health centers offer a wide range of information
resources including pamphlets, books, newsletters, and videotapes
on a variety of topics. In addition, many Planned Parenthood
affiliates provide valuable information on the World Wide Web.

Planned
Parenthood - Mobilizing Millions
Planned Parenthood is a visible and forceful advocate for reproductive
rights and reproductive health issues wherever public policy
is deliberated and formed: in Congress and in statehouses, in
the courts, in the media, and in the heart and mind of every
American.
The Planned Parenthood Action Agenda is a proactive advocacy
and service initiative to expand and secure reproductive health
rights for the future. The Action Network mobilizes people committed
to defending and increasing access to family planning services,
abortion, and sexuality education. The Planned Parenthood Action
Fund, a separate 501(c)(4) organization, furthers our advocacy
efforts to protect reproductive choice and family planning through
lobbying, education, and electoral activity.
At the local, state, and national levels, Planned Parenthood
conducts a range of advocacy activities:
- engaging in litigation to defend reproductive freedom
- debunking disinformation campaigns and providing accurate
information to the media and the public
