Why are You Thankful for Planned Parenthood: Share Your Story

Thanksgiving and the holiday season have arrived.  This is a great time to reflect on the many things we are thankful for and the reasons why.  Please take a moment to share why you are thankful for Planned Parenthood.  Just in case you don't already have enough reasons to be thankful, click here for FREE Birth Control or Emergency Contraception!

When it comes to reproductive health and freedom, everybody has an important story to tell. Whether you're a patient, donor, volunteer, or all three, please speak out and share your story about the importance of Planned Parenthood and reproductive rights.

Your story will help us preserve and expand access to reproductive health care and information. No matter how Planned Parenthood has made a difference in your life, please share your story so we can better share our story.

Planned Parenthood Leadership Committee Fall Training

In early October over 40 Planned Parenthood activists attended the Planned Parenthood Leadership Committee (PPLC) fall training in Miami.  Participants received intensive training around communication strategies, event planning, and grassroots organizing.  These newly-minted PPLC members are now working to educate their communities about improving public policy around access to birth control and comprehensive sex education.  To learn more about how you can become an ambassador for Planned Parenthood in your community email emily.caponetti@ppsoflo.org.

Teen Time Programs

Planned Parenthood's Teen Time program provides adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 with programs stressing abstinence, prevention, respect and responsibility, and vital reproductive health care and educational outreach.  Last year this program served over 22,826 teens, providing them with education, accurate information and health care they otherwise could not access.  Click here for more information about Teen Time.

Attention College Students

South Florida VOX Chapters are Organizing Students for Planned Parenthood

VOX chapters at FIU, FAU and UM celebrated October by hosting ‘Scary Sex Spooktaculars,’ designed to educate and mobilize students about advocacy work around comprehensive sex education.  Complete with ‘condom ghosts,’ lively conversation, and the VOX members’ desire to take action, each VOX chapter developed a campaign to increase access to condoms on their respective campuses.
