Yet attacks on contraception are on the rise in the United States and around the world.For many women, access to reliable methods of family planning is increasingly difficult. Anti-family planning, anti-choice hardliners continue to block access to commonsense measures that prevent unintended pregnancy and therefore reduce the need for abortion.

These attacks include:

• Funding cuts for family planning services for women most in need
• Restrictions on access to emergency contraception in hospitals and pharmacies, denying many women a second chance to avoid unintended pregnancy
