HB 2797 Personhood from the moment of fertilization, introduced by anti-choice hardliner Del. Bob Marshall (R-13), simply states "That life begins at the moment of fertilization and the right to enjoyment of life guaranteed by Article 1, § 1 of the Constitution of Virginia is vested in each born and preborn human being from the moment of fertilization."

This bill is an outrageous attempt to undermine Roe v. Wade and threaten access to FDA-approved methods of contraception, like IUDs, Emergency Contraception or even basic birth control.
