The short explanation of this alert was:

 North Carolina Women United presents...

 Women's Advocacy Day 2009!

NCWU believes that all women and their families have the right to lead a healthy, happy life. Through our legislative agenda, we promote good public policies that support this value!

On Wednesday, April 1, 2009, women from across the state will gather at the Legislature in Raleigh to collectively promote the 2009 agenda. We hope that you will join us by pre-registering today!

Even if you can't be in Raleigh on April 1, you can participate in Women's Advocacy Day by sending an email to your legislator urging him or her to take action on the most pressing issues facing women and their families today.

Let your legislators know that you value the lives, health, civic participation and economic stability of women in our society.

We make it easy!

  • Review the bills on NCWU's legislative agenda. (Be sure to click on "More Info" for talking points on each specific bill!)
  • Consider the talking points below on Women's Advocacy Day-- they may help you contextualize your email.
  • Then, compose an email in the space below to your legislators that reflects why you support Women's Advocacy Day and the Women's Agenda. You can be as general or specific on a certain bill/issue as you'd like.
  • Click "Send this message" and you've participated in Virtual Advocacy Day-- THANK YOU!
