The short explanation of this alert was:

On July 19, as the House was debating the Labor Health and Human Services and Education Appropriations bill, Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) introduced an amendment that would have denied family planning services to millions of women, men, and teens by restricting federal family planning funds from going to Planned Parenthood health centers.

Thanks to our friends in Congress who spoke up on the House floor, and an amazing organizing effort, this amendment was overwhelmingly defeated by a vote of 231–189.
