Once again, Governor Blunt and Missouri legislators have chosen restrictions over prevention. They clearly need a reminder that the only way to reduce the number of abortions in Missouri is by getting to the root of the problem by increasing access to birth control, providing teens with medically accurate, comprehensive sex education, and by providing affordable family planning and reproductive healthcare!

I am outraged that Missouri legislators failed to promote prevention by voting to allow abstinence-only sex education in schools, ban trained sex educators from public schools, and close abortion clinics.

Prevention means:
- Access to birth control, including emergency contraception.
- Access to medically accurate, comprehensive sex education.
- Access to affordable family planning and reproductive health care.
