On August 28th, Governor Charlie Crist appointed Judge Charles Canady to the Florida Supreme Court.   Charles Canady has a proven anti-choice record, from his time in the Florida Legislature, to serving as a member of the United States House of Representatives. 

Canady’s Congressional voting record exposes him as an anti-choice extremist.  Canady was the sponsor and architect of the federal abortion ban which criminalizes abortions in the second trimester of pregnancy that doctors say is a safe method to protect a woman when her health is at risk.  Canady also voted to jeopardize the health and safety of teens across the nation by supporting an inappropriate federal intrusion in family decision making that would criminalize close family members who help young women to access the health care they need.
