In the midst of a national health care crisis, some of the most vulnerable Americans may soon have an even harder time getting basic health care services. Congress is considering cutting $15 to $20 billion from the Medicaid program over the next five years. Cuts of this size will have a major impact on our country's most needy women and families — many of whom rely on this program for preventive health care, including crucial family planning services. That's why we urgently need your help.

Urge your senator to vote yes on an amendment that Senators Smith (R-OR) and Bingaman (D-NM) will offer to remove Medicaid cuts from the Senate's proposed budget.

This amendment must pass. It is our best hope of stopping these dangerous cuts to one of our country's most important health care programs.
