Last week the House Judiciary Committee passed a package of bills to protect women’s health, reduce unintended pregnancies, reduce abortion and help prevent sexually transmitted diseases, all while saving already scare public health dollars.

The Prevention First campaign addresses the following principles:
- Promote honest, medically accurate, abstinence-plus sex education
- Guarantee that women who survive rape or sexual assault are offered information about and access to emergency contraception
- Ensure insurance coverage for birth control
- Expand family planning services
- Ensure that pharmacists fill birth control prescriptions
- Support teen pregnancy prevention efforts
