I am outraged that many Missouri Legislators have the wrong priorities; they ignore common sense prevention efforts and focus on harmful and unnecessary restrictions on abortion services when:
There are more than 815,000 uninsured Missourians including at least 146,150 uninsured children, AND
Missouri ranks among the top 15 states for sexually transmitted diseases - with Missouri's largest cities -Kansas City and St. Louis - leading the country in chlamydia and gonorrhea rates, YET
10 prevention bills were ignored while they debated abortion restrictions.
Prevention means:
Access to birth control, including emergency contraception.
Access to medically accurate, comprehensive sex education.
Access to affordable family planning and reproductive health care.
I want my elected officials to vote AGAINST additional harmful restrictions on contraception and abortion.
I want my elected officials to vote FOR common sense prevention policies.
