Planned Parenthood Affiliates of Michigan, along with our coalition partners, is pleased to announce Faith, Choice & Action, an interfaith prayer breakfast and pro-choice lobby day on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the historic Washington, DC, March for Women's Lives.

Rev. Dr. CastueraThe day will begin with an interfaith prayer breakfast. Rev. Dr. Ignacio Castuera, Chaplain for Planned Parenthood Federation of America (click here for bio), along with clergy of various traditions, will give testimony to the fact that a majority of religious Americans are pro-choice and that a majority of the world's most beloved religions have authentic pro-choice positions. Planned Parenthood hopes you will join us to promote a dialogue about sexuality and health between various faiths, in order to achieve our mission of enabling reproductive self-determination.

This year we will educate our elected officials about advancing proactive prevention policies through our Prevention First campaign. The Prevention First initiative symbolizes our commitment to support healthy families through commonsense prevention measures. Improving access to preventive health care and supporting healthy families should be a shared statewide goal. If we are committed to reducing the number of unintended pregnancies in Michigan, we must get to the root of the problem through prevention. We must ensure reliable sexual and reproductive health education and information; increase access to family planning services; and help plan parenthood, healthy pregnancies, and healthy families.
