Greetings,

Our first ever Virtual Lobby Day was a huge success and there is still time for YOU to TAKE ACTION!

Planned Parenthood staff members and volunteers delivered nearly 3,000 post cards from supporters and talked with legislators about the importance of making women’s health and family planning services a priority in Michigan. [check out the video here!]

Over 700 people from all over the state sent e-mails and made phone calls to legislators to drive the message home.  Join them by taking action TODAY!

We also need your friends, family, classmates and co-workers to take action!

If you get 5 of your friends to join us by using the tell-a-friend link in the column to the right you will receive our newest t-shirt emblazonded with this design!

Subject: Support Prevention First!

Dear [decision maker name automatically inserted here],

I urge you to support the Prevention First package of bills (HB 5155 - HB 5165). The need to ensure and expand access to reproductive health information and services is very important to me. At a time when the Legislature has passed a Department of Community Health budget that decimates the family planning program, prevention efforts have never been more important. These prevention bills were recently voted out of the House Judiciary Committee and are expected to move to the House floor for debate later this fall. This package of legislation will protect women's health, reduce unintended pregnancies and help prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. Thank you for your commitment to supporting healthy families through common sense prevention measures.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

What's At Stake:

The Prevention First package of bills (HB 5155 – HB 5165) symbolizes a commitment to the citizens of Michigan to support healthy families through commonsense prevention measures.  Improving access to preventative health care should be a statewide goal.  The need to ensure reliable sexual and reproductive health education and information, increase access to family planning services and help plan parenthood, healthy pregnancies and healthy families is imperative.
