Don't let Ohio become the next South Dakota!
Ohio State Rep. Tom Brinkman says he "would like to see Roe v. Wade overturned."1 But he's clearly gone above and beyond with the state abortion ban he's sponsoring. With absolutely no exceptions — not for rape or incest, not even if the life of the woman is in jeopardy — it's the most extreme ban of any we've seen so far. It would even make it a felony to help a friend who's seeking an abortion travel to another state to get one. Tell Tom Brinkman that the best way to reduce the number of abortions is to support prevention, not to risk women's lives to make a political statement.
Dear [ Decision Maker ] , I am opposed to the Ohio abortion ban. I don't think Ohio, or any other state, should restrict a woman's right to choose to have an abortion. I know you would like to see Roe v. Wade overturned, but the decision to have an abortion is between a woman, her family, and her doctor. Instead of punishing women and possibly endangering their lives for the sake of reducing the number of abortions, I urge you to support the Ohio Prevention First Act (HB 588). The Prevention First Act increases access to family planning, birth control, and medically accurate sex education -- the proven tools to prevent unintended pregnancy.
Sincerely, |
