Volunteers: We Need You Now!

The Senate Finance Committee failed twice at passing the public option, and in the process, also managed to add funding for abstinence-only-until-marriage programs. It's obvious that politicians in Washington have lost sight of what Americans truly DO support: health care reform, and that women shouldn't be worse off as a result.

Planned Parenthood in Pennsylvania is still mobilizing on health care reform -- from writing letters, attending community events and phone banking. Phone banking is one of the most effective ways we are reaching supporters.  Planned Parenthood uses a computer-based system which allows you to talk to ONLY live callers, and then transfer their call DIRECTLY to their elected official's office in Washington!

NOW is the time that Washington needs to hear from us most, and BOTH houses of Congress could move further on health care reform as early as NEXT WEEK! Helping us put calls into Congressional offices is one of the most important and useful ways you can help.

Can you join us for a phone bank near you on October 7th from 1:00 - 4:00 PM?

Phone banks are available in Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, York and Warminster

Please share a few hours of your time to help us protect women's health in health care reform next week!

Reply to this email if you're available, and we'll give you the rest of the details. NO experience necessary -- all training and materials are provided!
