Greetings,
Picture this...

You open your curtains and see a line of 20 people,
mostly men, lining the sidewalk in front of your house. They
hold signs, graphic ones. They show enlarged images of a fetus.
The signs say "Baby Killer Lives Here." You lean a little
closer, careful not to be seen. You hear shouting; they are
saying terrible things. "We're going to follow you wherever you
go. You will not have rest. You will perish in hell for
eternity unless you repent. You will go down in history as one
of the worst." They look angry. You're scared. Your family
is scared – in your own home.
This is exactly what one of our doctors and his wife have
experienced EVERY holiday since Mothers' Day this year –
Memorial Day, Fathers' Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and yes,
even on Halloween when neighborhood children are expected to be
trick-or-treating. One night a protestor was arrested
outside the home because he became belligerent and was carrying
a loaded handgun. Sound familiar?
Anti-choice protestors have also been a consistent and
increasing presence at multiple Planned Parenthood of Indiana
(PPIN) locations for over a month, including locations where
only preventive health care is offered and no abortions are
performed. These protestors are intimidating to patients seeking
important services such as Pap tests, breast exams, birth
control and STD testing and often harass women and men as they
walk to our health center doors.
Yes, we all have a right to speak our minds. Yes,
protests are a part of our civil rights. But, isn't this going
too far?
The worst part? PPIN is forced to spend an increasing
amount of money on security measures to keep patients and
employees safe. That's money that could go toward health
care for needy Hoosiers.
We need your support! Your donation can help us continue to
provide our much needed services while combating these
distractions to our core mission of providing quality,
preventive reproductive health care.
Don't let these protestors win! Make your own statement right
now!
