Get Local!
Pharmacists have a duty to dispense drugs or devices lawfully prescribed by a physician. Yet a growing number or zealous pharmacists are denying women birth control, including emergency contraception, simply because they don't believe in it. Planned Parenthood is fighting back nationally. And you can join the effort in your community. If you are outraged by the increasing number of pharmacy refusals and are willing to take action to stop this trend, our local response team is for you. Getting involved is simple, and only requires you to be ready and willing to take action in your community. We've provided all the tools you need to spread the word in your community, create a local visibility event, and organize your friends in support of a woman's right to unrestricted access to reproductive health care. Join a response team today.

| Background Information |
The attack on women's rights has extended to our neighborhood pharmacies.
- In 2004, 14 states proposed legislation to allow pharmacists to refuse to dispense drugs they don't personally approve of — ignoring the sacred doctor/patient relationship.
- Four states already have laws or regulations that permit pharmacist refusals.
- Pharmacist refusals have been documented in California, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Texas, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
Until we stand firm and say this must stop, pharmacists nationwide will continue to refuse women the medication they want and need. Join our local response team today.
