On Monday November 2nd from 6-9pm, Planned Parenthood Advocates of New York - Western New York Chapter will partner with NARAL Pro-Choice NY to phone bank in support of Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava for Congress. Please consider coming in to help call.

Dede is running in the special election in the 23rd Congressional District to replace Congressman John McHugh who was chosen by President Obama to become the Secretary of the United States Army. Dede is the only 100% pro-choice candidate running for this seat, and has two opponents, Bill Owens who is running on the Democratic line, and Doug Hoffman who is running on the Conservative line. During her 11 years in the Assembly, Dede has consistently and courageously advocated for women’s health and reproductive rights. In 2008 she received Family Planning Advocates Margaret Sanger award.

One thing the battle over health care reform has taught us is that we need more committed pro-choice advocates like Dede in Congress. Help us send her to Washington to stand up for the rights we hold so dear.
