Thanks to Senators Murray and Clinton

After three years of dragging their feet on Plan-B, the FDA relented and made Plan-B available over the counter. This change in status is due in large part to the efforts of Senators Murray and Clinton, strong advocates for women's reproductive health.  Let's thank these to leaders in the fight to protect women and families' reproductive rights.

I am writing to personally thank you for putting pressure on the FDA to increase access to emergency contraception. Your leadership helped secure the FDA's recent decision to grant over-the-counter status for Plan B, and I join thousands of advocates who also played a part in this campaign in saying, "Well done." I realize we have more work to do, since the decision only applies to women 18 and over, but this was a hard-won victory. I encourage you to continue your commitment to giving women who may face unintended pregnancies access to a full range of healthy, safe options.
