Celebrate sexual and reproductive
freedom with Planned Parenthood and
NC Pride!
Planned Parenthood is built on the fundamental belief that
each individual has a basic right to
self-determination. What better way to show our support and
inclusion of the local GLBTQ community than to be out in
full-force at the 2009 Durham Pride Parade?
On Saturday, September 26 Planned Parenthood of
Central North Carolina will bring out signs, banners, cheers,
petitions and our full support to Pride and we want YOU to be
there!
Please join us on Saturday, September 26,
2009 from 12:30 to 2:00 pm to
stand up for self-determination and sexual and reproductive
freedom. Visit the official NC Pride
website to learn about all the great events going on
during Pridefest 2009!
Plan on meeting up with other Planned Parenthood
activists on Campus Dr. just off of West Main St. on Duke
University's East Campus in Durham no later than 12:30pm!
Check out NC Pride's helpful map
of the area for directions and parking information.
We'll distribute stickers, bandannas, signs and other
fun Pride stuff before we march through Durham as a
united front and part of the 2009 Pride
parade!
Get ready to cheer, chant and wave your signs for Pride and
Planned Parenthood! Each year there are groups
of protesters at the Pride Parade so we have to make
sure that our signs are bigger, our cheers are louder, and
our activists completely out-number theirs!
Please RSVP to Alison Kiser at (919) 636-1728 or
alison.kiser@ppcentralnc.org
for more logistical information and additional ways you can
help us by volunteering at Pride!
IMPORTANT REMINDER:
If you're interested in creating your own
homemade sign to carry at Pride (or in creating some signs for
other participants to use) join us for our Pride sign-making
party TOMORROW Wednesday, September 23 from
6:00-8:00pm at the Planned Parenthood in Chapel Hill. Please
RSVP to Alison at alison.kiser@ppcentralnc.org if you plan to attend to make sure we have plenty
of materials!
Can't wait to see you at Pride!
