Subject: Vote Yes on HB 88 The Healthy Youth Act in Health Committee

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

Please vote yes on HB 88, the Healthy Youth Act!

This bill gives parents the option of having their teenager enrolled in an abstinence until marriage program OR a comprehensive sexuality education program.

Comprehensive sexuality education programs are proven effective in providing youth with life-saving information that will help avoid risky behavior and prepare them to make good health decisions throughout a lifetime.

I believe that this bill would take the politics out of the sex education debate by allowing parents, not politicians, to decide what program is most appropriate for their teen.

Please vote Yes on HB 88 when it is heard on the House Floor and urge your colleagues to do the same.

Sincerely,

33% (that's one-third!) of teenage girls who dropped out of high school said that they did so because they become parents.

Roughly 50% of all new sexually transmitted infections occur among youth ages 15 to 24.
