Join us in Springfield on Feb. 28 to urge legislators to fund comprehensive sex ed in Illinois schools. Young people need the facts to make responsible decisions.
Currently there are no statewide standards and no state funding for comprehensive sex education programs that teach both abstinence and factual information, leaving many teens with incorrect or incomplete information. In nearly half of Illinois sex ed classrooms abstinence-only programs do not teach about condoms or sexually transmitted diseases like AIDS. In some schools nothing is taught at all.
It's time the legislature did their part to protect Illinois youth by passing the Responsible Sex Education Program (SB 2267). Help us urge legislators to pass this important bill. Sign up to join us on Feb. 28.
When: Tuesday, February 28 from 10 AM to 2 PM - Rally in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided.
Where: Howlett Building Auditorium (on the Capitol Complex), 2nd Street and Edwards Street, Springfield, IL
