Tell your legislator to vote YES on the RHAA!

Greetings,

Thanks so much for taking the time to chat with Planned Parenthood volunteers about the Reproductive Health & Access Act (RHAA)!  We enjoyed talking with you and wanted to say thanks so much for signing the petition to support RHAA!

The Reproductive Health and Access Act (HB 2354) protects the right of women to a continuum of choices throughout their reproductive lives -- from honest sex education to access to quality birth control, prenatal care, and the right to choose abortion.

It's an important bill for Illinois and our elected officials need to hear from us - please send them an email today by clicking the link below!

Tell your Representative to vote YES on the RHAA!

This is a reasonable bill that ensures everyone the ability to use or refuse contraception and ensures that every woman is able to make her own personal decisions about when and whether to have a child and to control her own reproductive health without interference.

We are so glad you support reproductive health and access for women and men in Illinois! We have lots of great activities going on to support this bill and need your help.  To find out more about the activities in your area, send me an email today!

Thanks again for your time and support!

Send a letter to the following decision maker(s):
Your Representative (if you live in Illinois)

Below is the sample letter:

Subject: Vote yes on the Reproductive Health and Access Act!

Dear [decision maker name automatically inserted here],

As a constituent concerned with expanding access to health care for all persons in Illinois, I urge you to support the Reproductive Health and Access Act.

I believe that women must have a continuum of choices throughout their reproductive lives - from honest sexual health education to access to quality birth control, prenatal care, and the right to choose abortion.

Each woman must have the ability to decide for herself when and whether to become a mother, and to control her own reproductive health without interference. This bill ensures that a woman has as many responsible options as possible when it comes to making important personal decisions.

Again, please vote yes on the Reproductive Health and Access Act.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

What's At Stake:

The Reproductive Health & Access Act (RHAA) protects the right of women to a continuum of choices throughout their reproductive lives -- from honest sex education to access to quality birth control, prenatal care, and the right to choose abortion.

RHAA:

 - bars the government from interfering with anyone’s ability to use birth control, carry a pregnancy to term or terminate a pregnancy;

 -  requires all Illinois public schools to teach medically accurate, age appropriate, comprehensive sex education.  Parents would be allowed to remove their children from classes if they do not want them to participate;

 -  makes sure that government-funded health care programs, like Medicaid, cover basic reproductive health care services like family planning, pre-natal care, and pap tests as they do for other health care services;

 - protects both patients and doctors by allowing individual health care professionals to object to providing certain services, while still ensuring that patients receive timely, accurate and complete information about care options.
