2010 Planned Parenthood Member Card
Dear Supporter,

When I travel around the country, I talk to a lot of people about the difference that Planned Parenthood makes. And very often, they say the same thing: "I only think about Planned Parenthood when a crisis strikes."

Sometimes, that means a personal health crisis, and when that happens, countless people who have nowhere else to turn find the care they need at a Planned Parenthood health center. But for a lot of supporters, a crisis means the need to fight against broader threats to women's health — anti-choice efforts to hijack health care reform, or ballot propositions that threaten a woman's right to choose.

I'm incredibly proud that Planned Parenthood is there for women and families in their time of need, and believe me, I'm grateful to have support at times of crisis. But the truth is, Planned Parenthood works every single day to protect and promote women's health — and that means we need support every single day of the year.

That's why regular donors like you are so important. Your consistent support allows us to stand up for the women, men, and families who rely on us day in and day out. Will you renew that support by making a gift to Planned Parenthood Federation of America today?

You stood with us before, and I can tell you that your support truly makes the difference between defeating attacks on women's health and coming up short. With your support, Planned Parenthood won some important fights in 2009:

>
We overturned a law that would have forced doctors in South Dakota to communicate false and frightening anti-choice information to women seeking abortions.

>
We defeated a dangerous ballot initiative in Colorado that would have granted legal "personhood" to fetuses, potentially criminalizing abortion and many forms of contraception and endangering countless women.

>
We worked with President Obama to overturn the global gag rule, allowing U.S.-funded clinics around the world to once again provide lifesaving care and complete, accurate information about reproductive health.

I can't say it enough: these and other battles are happening every day, and achievements like these would not be possible without your support. Please make sure we have the resources we need to continue protecting women's health in 2010 and beyond.

For 94 years, women and families have relied on Planned Parenthood to defend their rights and access to care. And for 94 years, we've met that responsibility with the help of people like you. Not just sometimes — every single day.

We need you now — click here to renew your support for Planned Parenthood Federation of America today. Thank you for everything you do to stand up for choice.
Sincerely,

Cecile Richards, President
Planned Parenthood Federation of America
