Greetings,
REMINDER-The
2009 Coalition for Choice Lobby Day is next week, on Tuesday,
October 6th. Please join us!
Do you support women's
reproductive health? Do you believe that every student
should have access to comprehensive health education?
Please join us on Tuesday, October 6th,
2009 from 10 a.m. to noon, as Planned
Parenthood League of Massachusetts, along with the other member
organizations of the Massachusetts Coalition for Choice,
demonstrates to legislators the overwhelming statewide support
for the repeal of archaic public health laws and for real
health education for our youth.
Help us make Lobby Day a
huge success by urging your legislators to support the following
two important bills:
1. An Act
Relative to Updating the Public Health Laws (Senate Bill
1610/ House Bill 1745) would repeal archaic and unconstitutional
abortion and contraceptive restrictions that remain on the books
in Massachusetts.
2. An Act Relative
to Providing Health Education in Schools (Senate Bill 218/
House Bill 3434) would require that all school districts provide
age-appropriate health education in grades K-12
Lobby Day will begin in
the Great Hall at the State House in Boston. From there,
we will break up into groups to go to our legislators’
offices and lobby them on these issues.
We will be providing
transportation by bus from Worcester to the State House on the
morning of the 6th. For more information, or if you are
interested in becoming a Senate district captain, please
contact Amanda Mooers at
617-629-8613 or lobbyday@pplm.org
