The Title X bill, SB0470/HB1756, is working its way through the House and Senate. On both the Senate & House sides, it will be up for a vote on Tuesday, June 2nd.

To make a long story short, the sponsors of this bill are trying to strip Title X funding from PPMET and PP Memphis.

As a supporter of Planned Parenthood of Middle and East Tennessee I am asking you to please vote against SB0470/HB1756.

Title X helps PPMET provide their comprehensive family planning services on a sliding scale to thousands of low-income women and men each year.

For over thirty years Planned Parenthood has been a trusted source of affordable healthcare for their clients in Tennessee as well as a trusted partner in high-quality care to the Tennessee State Health Departments in Nashville and Memphis.

Please let them continue to do their work uninterrupted by voting against SB0470/HB1756. The thousands of patients who rely on Planned Parenthood for their pap smears, check ups and birth control should not be allowed to fall through the cracks.

Background Information

Title X funding allows us to provide sliding scale family planning services to low-income clients – we can not use any Title X funds for abortion services per federal statute.
PPMET and PP Memphis have been receiving Title X funds for over 30 years.
We are a trusted partner of both Nashville and Memphis Departments of Health and provide these services because the State Departments don’t have the capacity.
