Background Information

In 2006, Governor Blunt and anti-birth control legislators supported bills that would:

-- Protect pharmacists who deny women their birth control prescriptions

-- Remove the requirement for sex-ed classes to provide life-saving information about contraception to teens

-- Require that emergency contraception be prescription-only for Missouri women, even though the FDA approved it to be sold over-the-counter for women 18 and over.
