Thank Rep. Jenkins for Protecting Healthcare!

Last Friday, 247 members of Congress stood up for women's health and overwhelmingly defeated the Pence Amendment that sought to deny family planning services to thousands of Kansas women, men and teens by restricting Title X federal family planning funds from going to Planned Parenthood affiliate health centers.

Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (R-KS) was one of those 247 members who stood up for women's health and the thousands of Kansans who rely on Planned Parenthood for preventive health care.

The Pence Amendment would have cut millions of American women off from their source of primary care. Planned Parenthood, with 4 health centers across Kansas, is part of an important network of women's essential community providers. Planned Parenthood health centers serve as an entry point into the health care system for millions of women. As the economic downturn continues, more women are turning to women's health centers like Planned Parenthood for basic health care.

Subject: Thank you for standing up for Planned Parenthood

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

I want to thank you for standing up for women's health and the thousands of Kansas women who rely on Planned Parenthood for preventive health care by voting against the recent Pence Amendment to HR 3293.

For many women, and especially those in rural areas and underserved communities, Planned Parenthood is their only source of health care. Many of these women could face tremendous difficulty finding other health care providers able and willing to deliver the high-quality family planning services required of Title X, placing them at increased risk of unintended pregnancy. Your vote protected thousands of women's access to healthcare services that they may otherwise be unable to afford and I am glad that their access has been protected.

Sincerely,
