Act Now! Stop the New Abortion Ban!
The new abortion ban, HB1293, passed out of the House State Affairs Committee and will now be up for a full vote on the House floor on Wednesday.
Let the House of Representatives know that you oppose this abortion ban as much as the last one. Send a letter to members of the House and urge them to vote against this ban. Remind them that South Dakotans defeated a similar ban at the ballot box and that they have a duty to represent the voters who elected them.

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
It has come to my attention that HB 1293, the new abortion ban will be up for a floor vote. I am writing to urge you to please vote AGAINST this new abortion ban.
The government has no place in these personal, private decisions that are best left to women and their families. Voters in November stated this position clearly when defeating the state's first abortion ban by a twelve point margin.
Furthermore, this abortion ban does nothing to help prevent unintended pregnancies and does not include funding for contraception or a requirement that we educate people on how to prevent an unplanned pregnancy. It is merely an ideological approach that presents no real solution to ending abortion in South Dakota.
I strongly urge you to vote against this new abortion ban.
