ND "kNOw McCain" House Party
Dear friend, First, consider the people you know — friends, family, acquaintances. You've got your facebook, the folks you lunch with at the office, your book club. Now, consider what your people know — about John McCain. You might be surprised. I know that I am. Last week, a good friend said to me, "When it comes to health care, family planning, and choice, anyone has a better record than Bush ... including John McCain." What?!?! Turns out, my friend is like many others: not exactly clear about John McCain's stance on issues we care about. I showed her a fun, short video from the Planned Parenthood Action Fund and Brave New Films, put some information into her hands, and we had a brief conversation. That's all it took to educate her about the facts.  Turns out, you and I have the knowledge and influence to inform our circle of friends about just how out of touch John McCain's positions are. And, we have a responsibility to do so. We've made it easy for you to do your part (and even fun) by hosting a group of friends at your home and helping them get to "Know McCain." If you've never held a house party before, this is the year to do it! As you know, John McCain is ardently anti-choice — he wants to make abortion illegal and overturn Roe v. Wade. These positions put him out of step with mainstream Americans, but many women don't know what McCain's positions are on reproductive health. A little information goes a long way. When you educate a few friends, they'll educate their circle and so on. But, someone needs to start. We hope it's you! Please host a "kNOw McCain" house party of your own here in North Dakota— we'll give you all the support you need! If you like a Planned Parenthood staff can even attend the party. Once again, thank you for doing your part.
