Support SF273!!
This year in Minnesota it’s all about Prevention-- preventing cuts to our family planning programs, preventing anti-choice bills from passing, and most importantly, passing Senator John Marty’s comprehensive Prevention Bill, SF273.
Dear [ Decision Maker ] , I am writing you today to urge you to support Senator Marty's Bill, SF273. SF273 contains broad prevention measures to address sexually transmitted infections (STIS) and teen pregnancy, create a responsible family life and sexuality education program, and increase funding for Minnesota's Family Planning and Special Projects (FPSP) Program.
The need for prevention measures is vast; in 2006, Minnesota reached the state's highest level ever of Chlamydia cases, with total cases more than doubling over the last decade. In this economic downturn, it is of the utmost importance that we fund programs like FPSP that provide a critical safety net for thousands of Minnesotans who won't be able to afford health care anywhere else. At the same time, it is also important that we make smart fiscal decisions. Preventative programs actually save money in the long run and help improve the lives of Minnesotans at the same time. Please support thousands of men and women who depend on programs included in this bill by supporting S.F. 273!
