SB92 Defeated

On Wednesday, February 11th, the Senate Health And Human Services Committee of the State Legislature defeated a dangerous and punitive bill that would have been harmful to women, families and abortion providers in our state.

While the 4 to 3 vote to move SB 92 to the 41st Day was a victory, there were still three senators who did not see the problem with this piece of legislation.

Let's remind them that we are watching.

Subject: Senate Bill 92

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

I have been keeping an eye on SB 92 since it was introduced into the South Dakota Senate.

I must say, I am disappointed in your vote on this dangerous measure.

SB 92 would not have done a single thing to prevent one abortion or unintended pregnancy in this state.

While I am happy the bill was defeated, I wish you would've joined the majority.

It is now time to show your commitment to reducing unintended pregnancies and the need for abortion in the state of South Dakota.

I urge you to support SB 134 which would help provide contraceptive coverage to women who have health insurance plans with prescription drug coverage.

Sincerely,
