Dear Friend of PPGNNJ,
We hope you will join us at PPGNNJ's
annual Beacons of Light luncheon on October 1 when
our featured speaker will be award-winning author Ann
Crittenden. The luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. until
2:00 p.m. at the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park.
Ann Crittenden is an award-winning journalist,
author and lecturer. Her books If You've Raised Kids, You
Can Manage Anything, and The Price of
Motherhood have garnered widespread media attention. The
latter was named one of the New York Times' Notable Books of
the Year in 2001. A reporter for the New York Times for
eight years, she was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. Her
articles have appeared in every national newspaper and numerous
magazines. Crittenden is a member
of the Council on Foreign Relations and has served on the board
of the International Center for Women.
Our luncheon will also honor this year's
Beacons, Jeff Brand, PPGNNJ's retiring President and CEO,
and Teva Women's Health. Jeff Brand is retiring after 27 years
of service to PPGNNJ. Through his dedication to the Planned
Parenthood mission and to his staff, Jeff has led PPGNNJ into
its current status as the largest community-based ambulatory
health care agency in New Jersey. The 2009 Reproductive Freedom
Award will be presented to Teva Women's Health for the company's
significant commitment to women's health and contraception.
