ENGAGING URBAN YOUTH IN HEALTHY SEXUALITY
Facilitator: Ivan Juzang
What are the latest sexuality trends among urban youth? How are teens and youth defining sex and relationships these days? In this interactive and hands-on workshop, the presenter will share proven methods to effectively engage urban youth in discussions about sex, sexuality, reproductive health, pregnancy prevention and HIV/AIDS. He will explore how to help youth make healthier choices, abstain from sex or improve their sexual and reproductive health decision-making skills, by demonstrating argument/counter-argument dialogue techniques that change attitudes and beliefs. By examining the environmental influences, attitudes and behaviors and unique communication style of sometimes hard-to-reach youth, Juzang will enable attendees to tailor their sexual and reproductive health programs, services and community outreach efforts with cost-effective and culturally-relevant communication strategies that are shareable among youth peer groups, paving the way to an important change in norms.
Continental breakfast and lunch will be included.
