POSITIVE ENCOUNTERS: WORKING ONE-TO-ONE WITH TEENS ON SEXUAL DECISION-MAKING
Facilitator: Melissa Keyes DiGioiaIn this workshop, participants will consider how personal background, attitudes, values and beliefs can impact one's ability to counsel young people effectively. Participants will also examine factors that contribute to young people's decision-making, explore strategies for overcoming resistance, improve one-to-one communication between adults and teens and identify ways that they can support and encourage adolescents to make healthy, responsible choices related to their sexuality. Participants will receive a copy of Positive Encounters: Supporting Healthy Contraceptive and Safer Sex Decisions.
