Compassionate Assistance for Rape Emergencies

Representative Dan Stewart did something about it.

Will you?

On November 4th, Rep. Dan Stewart gave sponsor testimony for HB 333, the Compassionate Assistance for Rape Emergencies (CARE) act. This bill is a single-provision break-out of the Ohio Prevention First Act. He explained how hospital policies that do not permit rape survivors to be given Emergency Contraception by Emergency Room staff victimize women who have already suffered through what no person should have to endure. The act will guarantee that rape survivors have access to emergency contraception in all ERs.

Most people in Ohio support the Ohio Prevention First Act, but it has only received one hearing in the past three years. To make our voices heard, we are phone banking to gain support for the act. Will you help us?
