Organize Your Community

Get the word out in your community about the need for age-appropriate, medically accurate sex education for young people.  Connecticut youth is at risk and the time to act is now. 

Here’s what you can do!

1. Write a Letter to the Editor  or an Op-Ed in your local newspaper telling your community why you support comprehensive sex education. 
   
   
2. Petition for young people’s right to real sex education. Download a petition and collect signatures.
   
   
3. Contact your local Board of Education and ask them what the curriculum is for sex education in your district.  If they don't include sex education in your town's health curriculum, ask them to.  Let us know what you learn.
   
4. Hold a Community Forum.  Contact us and learn more about organizing one.
   
   
5. Host a House Party.  Invite your friends, family and neighbors over to talk about sex education or have a sex education program and inform them about Healthy Teens Connecticut.  We can help you plan so contact us!
   
   
6. Take Action! Show your support for medically accurate, comprehensive sex education.
