Washington, DC – U.S. Congressman Ciro D. Rodriguez (TX-23) will host a Healthcare Town Hall Meeting on FRIDAY, AUGUST 28, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at the Palo Alto College Performing Arts Center.

“With the crucial issue of healthcare facing our nation, I want to take the opportunity to listen to constituents about their needs and concerns,” said Congressman Ciro Rodriguez. “I’d like to invite the public to take part in this important dialogue.”

 There is no doubt that the United States is facing a health care crisis of historic proportions. As health care reform moves forward, access to Planned Parenthood health centers and other community-based providers must be protected and supported.

Planned Parenthood Health Centers are a part of an important network of community providers that includes local health departments, hospital outpatient clinics, and independent family planning clinics. Access to women’s preventative health care – including family planning –is a lifeline for millions of people around the country, especially during these tough economic times.  Supporting the full range of reproductive health benefits as a part of health care reform is imperative to any reform effort.
