Urgent: Senator Hatch targets Planned Parenthood

URGENT: DON'T LET SENATOR HATCH CUT WOMEN OUT OF HEALTH CARE REFORM

Anti-women's health Senator Orrin Hatch has launched an attack on Planned Parenthood and the U.S. senators who are working hard to make sure health care reform helps women access the essential preventive care they need.

Senator Hatch is lying about an amendment that makes sure that preventive care for women — like birth control and cancer screenings — is included in health care legislation. The amendment also makes sure women and their families can still see the doctors and nurses they trust. Senator Hatch will do anything to stop this crucial amendment — even falsely claiming that the amendment mandates abortion coverage.

Senator Hatch has made himself clear: he believes that providing health care to millions of Americans is less important than pushing his anti-choice ideology. Sign our petition and tell him to stop lying about health care legislation, and start supporting women's health.

Senator Hatch, I am outraged by your latest attempt to cut women out of health care reform. While your colleagues, like Senator Mikulski, are working hard to make sure that health care reform provides access to essential care for millions of women, you are spreading lies about their efforts.

It is unconscionable that you are willing to sacrifice the health care of so many women, men, and families for one reason -- to undermine women's ability to get reproductive health care. It's even worse that you will try to mislead the public to accomplish your goals.

Without genuine access to care, women's health is in jeopardy. I urge you to stop your attacks, and join your Senate colleagues in creating health care reform legislation that provides access to preventive care for all women, men, and families.
