Dear
Voter,
Just when you think you've heard
it all — meet Bob McDonnell, Republican candidate for
governor of Virginia. Mr. McDonnell isn't your garden-variety
anti-choice politician. He's a true believer — railing
against legalized birth control, public schools, childcare and
— believe it — working women!
McDonnell's extreme views were
exposed when the Washington Post discovered his thesis from
Pat Robertson's Regent University. Written at age 34,
McDonnell's thesis details his thoughts on everything he finds
detrimental to the American family — including birth
control, social programs for the poor, and even working
women!
Take it
from me — this thing
reads like a fire and brimstone sermon from the "Leave It to
Beaver" era.
Democrat Creigh Deeds and defeat Bob McDonnell's
out-of-the-mainstream agenda.
Mr. McDonnell
is not only a man of words: he is a man of action. As a
legislator, he tried to implement 10 of the 15 policies set
forth in his thesis. He focused primarily on restricting women's
access to reproductive health care, sponsoring or co-sponsoring
more than 35 pieces of anti-choice legislation. The "working
women" he blames for so much have gotten little or no help from
him as well, since McDonnell voted against a resolution in
support of ending wage discrimination between men and women.
Like other
extremist right-wing candidates, McDonnell is now desperately
trying to distance himself from his voting record, public
statements and actions, and of course, his dissertation
at Regent University.
Women will decide this election,
so it's up to us to make sure every one of us in Virginia knows
exactly where Bob McDonnell stands. Women voting for Bob would
be like chickens voting for Colonel Sanders.
The
Democratic candidate, Senator Creigh Deeds, is 100 percent
pro-women's health, and 100 percent pro-working women, and he is
neck and neck with Bob McDonnell.
Support the Deeds
campaign — do your part to
let Virginia know that McDonnell is simply out of touch with the
values of women and families.
Bob McDonnell may think that
working women and feminists are the demise of American society
— but working together we can cause the demise of his
political career.
