Thanks to the strong advocacy of Representative Pedro Colon, additional funding for cervical cancer treatment was added to the state budget!

Planned Parenthood is one of the few providers of cervical cancer testing and early treatment for low-income women in Wisconsin. The funding will allow Planned Parenthood to provide LEEP services, a more extensive treatment that removes a large area of precancerous cervical cells.

~ When diagnosed early, cervical cancer has a 92% 5-year survival rate. However, cervical cancer can progress quickly, so early detection and treatment are key to high survival rates and successful treatment.
