 The
Healthy Youth Act requires schools that teach sex education
to do so in a responsible, comprehensive manner that
includes information about abstinence and birth control to
prevent teen pregnancies and STDs.
Just moments ago,
the Assembly Education Committee voted to pass the Healthy
Youth Act! Now let's work to get a vote from the full
Assembly and Senate!!
TAKE ACTION:
1. Send a letter to your Representative and
Senator urging them to
pass the Healthy Youth Act before the Legislature goes into
recess on November 6.
2. Write a letter to the
editor of your local
newspaper and let's show the broad public support for the
Healthy Youth Act.
3. Volunteer
for an upcoming phone bank in Milwaukee, Madison, or from home
and talk to constituents in key districts and help pass the
Healthy Youth Act.
4. Attend
the public hearing in the Senate
Education Committee on October 29th at 9:30 am at the
State Capitol in room 201-SE and show your public support for
the Healthy Youth Act. Anti-birth control opposition is
mounting and we need your support to get this done! Follow
PPAWI on Twitter and receive
breaking updates throughout the
hearing.
