Sex Education for Professionals
Professionals need sexual and reproductive health information to help themselves, as well as their clients, live sexually healthy lives. Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast announces Sex Education for Professionals- a series of workshops that explore sexuality across the lifespan.
Sign up for one or all of the workshops. Improve your communication with clients, family and community when discussing the issues of sexuality that concern our clients and our community.
Each workshop is 3 hours with CEUs for Nurses and Counselors (LPC) available.
The cost for each workshop is $35.00.

Childhood and Adolescent Sexual Health Wednesday October 17 Registration 8:30 9AM -- 12PM Childhood and Adolescent Sexual Health If you work with or parent children 1-18, there are sexuality issues that we as professionals can openly address with youth to keep them safe and help them make healthy sexual decisions. We will explore childhood sexual development as well as the characteristics of a sexually healthy adolescent. Issues of discussion will include: sexual health, sexual development, masturbation, sexual abuse, sexual orientation , gender roles and scripting and gender identity.
Sex and Intimacy in the Mature Years Friday November 16 8:30 Registration 9 AM -- 12PM As we age, our reproductive years may come to an end but that does not mean our sexual lives stop. Enjoying intimacy and sexual relationships into the golden years is a reality for many mature adults. Family and professionals who are knowledgeable about sexuality and aging can help encourage and support our aging population to take advantage of their golden years by giving them resources and tools that keep them active and informed. We will learn the impact of aging on the physiology of sexual functioning and address the many myths that surround sexuality and aging.
About the instructor: Meryl Cohen, MEd, LCSW, is VP of Education for PPGC , a certified Sexuality Educator and a licensed therapist. She teaches Human Sexuality at UH Graduate College of Social Work, has taught hundreds of professionals, teens and parents about reproductive and sexual health.
